Private tours are guaranteed to run (except in case of force majeure). There’s no need to wait for others to join — you decide how many travelers are in your group, and the price is calculated accordingly.

If your plans shift, we’ll do our best to accommodate the change without penalties, as long as the request is made within a reasonable timeframe. Our goal is simple: to make your journey feel effortless and personal.

At Ethnomatic, we welcome travelers of all ages — because curiosity has no limit. Our tours are designed for different interests and energy levels, so everyone — from children to seniors — can find their perfect rhythm of discovery.

For clarity in booking, travelers aged 8 and above are considered adults, and a full tour fee applies. Children aged 0–7 are welcome on most tours as well, but special arrangements or safety seats may be required depending on the route.

While there are no strict age limits, each tour has its own level of physical intensity. We encourage you to review the "Intensity" section carefully or consult our manager before booking to ensure the trip matches your comfort level.

If the participant is under 18, the booking must be completed by an adult guardian. Some tours are specifically designed for children and teenagers, but even in those cases, the reservation must be made by an adult.

About Prepayment

Every Ethnomatic tour requires a prepayment, with the amount calculated individually for each itinerary. This prepayment is non-refundable, and here’s why: Many of our tours involve local hosts — villagers, families, and craftsmen — who prepare for your visit in advance, often at their own expense. They may buy ingredients, reserve their time, or turn down other opportunities just to welcome you personally.

If a guest cancels at the last moment, these people are the ones most affected. Your prepayment allows us to fairly compensate our local partners for their time, effort, and preparation — even if your plans change unexpectedly.

💡 Ethnomatic does not profit from these prepayments. They exist to protect the integrity of our partnerships and to ensure a respectful balance between travelers, hosts, and our team. All tours are paid online, not in cash. However, in special cases and by prior arrangement, cash payment may be accepted — for example, upon arrival or at the start of the tour. Please note that even in such cases, a prepayment remains mandatory to secure your reservation.

We are also working on introducing an option for on-site cash payments before tour departure, while maintaining full transparency in accounting and partner coordination.
